The hospital opened in 2015 and is a 1.6 million-square-foot facility with 457 patient beds, and includes complex continuing care, rehabilitation, renal dialysis, acute inpatient care, maternal child care, inpatient and outpatient adult, child and adolescent mental health, secondary and tertiary level programs. CGI worked in a design assist capacity and used the OBE 6100 Series curtain wall system. The project achieved LEED® Gold certification for sustainable construction practices such as recycled and locally sourced products, minimized solar heat gain by installing reflective roofing, and double-glazed windows. Having large expanses of windows enhances daytime lighting and promotes therapeutic properties.
